To attach a country to a zone, go to International > Geographical zones > Country, modify the country and select the zone.
Your PrestaShop installation needs to know all the countries in the world, so that your customers can indicate where they live in the world.
There are about 200 countries in the world, but PrestaShop offers 244. This is due to the fact that we include, for example, overseas regions that are an integral part of the country.
For example, the French departments formally known as DOM (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Mayotte, Reunion and French Guinea) now have the same status as metropolitan France. Similarly, Hawaii and Alaska are U.S. states in their own right.
However, sending a parcel to Guadeloupe does not mean sending it to France, if only for the shipping costs. In fact, the PrestaShop price list separates country from region.
By default, only your own country is activated. You need to activate them one by one, according to your customers' needs. If you don't know which ones to activate, rely on the statistics by country of your visitors.
At the bottom of the list, the "Country preferences" section allows you to display in the Front Office only the countries covered by your carriers. We recommend you activate this setting, as it prevents your customers from having to scroll through a long list of countries before finding theirs.
To attach a country to a zone, simply open the country configuration. Then click in the Zone field and select the newly created zone.
