Like most modern software, PrestaShop has been available in different versions since its inception, with each update incrementing the version number. The versions are named using a sequence of numbers separated by periods, with each number indicating a more or less significant update.
Until version 8, PrestaShop did not strictly follow a standard version numbering system. For example, for version 1.7.6.9, the 1.7 indicates the major version number, the 6 is the minor version number, while the 9 refers to a patch. With the transition to version 8, there is no longer any need for version 1.Version 8 is the major version.
