The Exit Popup module allows you to display a pop-in as soon as your visitors are about to leave your site, and to encourage them to finalize their order. Below you will find all the necessary information to understand and use this module.
Preview tab
In this tab, you will be able to have a complete view of the pop-ins already created. The listing allows you to summarize on one line the main information and possible actions for each pop-in. For each pop-in created, the listing informs you of:
- The pop-in ID
- Its title
- The amount of the discount associated with the pop-in
- Start date of broadcast
- End date of broadcast
- Status: Activated or Deactivated
For each of the pop-ins listed in the Preview tab, many actions are possible:
- Change the status of the pop-in: you can Activate or Deactivate the display of your pop-in by clicking on the switch button (note: it is only possible to activate one pop-in at a time, if you activate a pop-in, the others will be automatically deactivated)
- Delete the pop-in by clicking on the trash can icon (a confirmation message will appear when clicked)
- Edit the pop-in by clicking on the pencil icon (when clicked, you will be redirected to the Creation tab)
You can also create a new pop-in and start a configuration process by clicking on "Create a new pop-up".
Creation and configuration of the pop-up
In the Preview tab, once you have clicked "Create a new pop-up", a new tab will appear, "Pop-up Configuration". You can follow the steps to configure your new pop-up!
Step 1: Type
In this first level, you will have the option to choose which products you want the pop-in to appear on, and the display duration of your pop-in.
You can choose to display the promotion either:
- on your entire store catalog
- on a particular product category,
- on a specific product
If you choose to display your promotion on a particular product category, a search field will appear and allow you to search for and then select, with a single click, a category among those existing on your store.
If you wish to display your promotion on a specific product, a search bar will also appear and you will be able to select the chosen product from the list of all your products.
You will also be able to choose to display your pop-in permanently or temporarily.
- The permanent display means that your pop-in will be displayed as soon as it is validated until it is manually deactivated (from the Preview tab).
- The temporary display means that you can choose to display your pop-in at a particular time. In this case, you will need to enter a start and end date for the pop-in's broadcast. Once the information has been filled in, click on 'Next step' to continue configuring your pop-in.
Step 2: Reduction
At this level, you will be able to customize the promotion of your pop-in. First, you will need to choose to display the promotion either:
- to all customers
- to new customers (who have never placed an order on your site)
You will then need to fill in the 'Promotional code prefix' field and choose the type of promotion you wish to implement: as a percentage or in euros, as well as the amount of the promotion.
For your information, each code is unique but they will all have the same prefix. This prefix must be composed of letters (maximum five). It is ideal to contextualise your prefix, for example: during an event such as Black Friday, your prefix could be BF. Your users will be shown an individual code (which is different for each user) of the type BF1234.
Tip! Boost your sales by activating the countdown display option! The prefix of your promotional code must be short (maximum five letters) in order to make it easier for users to remember this code.
Now that your promotion is set up, click on 'Next step' to configure the design and content of your pop-in.
Step 3: Template
In this section, you will be able to configure the visual aspect of your pop-in, either:
- using a 'ready-to-use' template from a choice of 8 templates, by clicking on the selected template
- by creating your own template by clicking on 'create one'
Step 4: Content
At this level, you will be able to modify the content of your pop-in and see, in real time, the changes thanks to a preview screen of your pop-in.
The number of possible configurations depends on whether you have chosen a 'ready-to-use' template or decided to create your own template.
In the case of the 'ready-to-use' model, you can modify:
- The primary color of its template
- The secondary color of its template
- The content of its pop-in title
- The content of its description
- The content of its promotion
- The content of its call to action
Advice! Do not hesitate to communicate the amount of your promotion as well as the duration of validity of the promotion in the description of your promotion in order to inform your client.
In the case of creating your own model: you will be able to fully create your pop-in model in two parts: visual settings and content.
In the visual settings, you can modify:
- The primary color of its template
- The secondary color of its template
Tip! Use text colors with sufficient contrast to improve the readability, attractiveness and therefore the conversion rate of your promotion.
You will then be able to upload an image that you can position either to the left, to the right, at the top or even in the background of your text.
You also have the option to modify the style of the typography and the call to action by:
- changing the font from a predefined list of fonts
- modifying the alignment of the text
- modifying the design of the call to action: rounded or square ends
In the Content section, you can modify:
- The primary color of its template
- The secondary color of its template
- The content of its pop-in title
- The content of its description
- The content of its promotion
- The content of its call to action
Advice! Keep in mind that this is a promotional message intended for a user ready to leave your site. A short and quick-to-read text will have more impact on your users!
You can save your configurations by clicking on Save. Your pop-in has been successfully saved and is now available in the 'Preview' tab.
Statistics tab
Once your pop-in is online, you can access three types of data, available in the 'Statistics' tab:
- Number of times it has been viewed
- Number of times it has been clicked
- Number of times the promotional code, generated via this pop-in, has been used during an order
It is also possible to return to the pop-in configurations by clicking on the pencil.
Tip! Do not hesitate to calculate the click-through rate, which corresponds to the number of clicks / number of views, of each pop-in, so that you can compare the performance of each of your pop-ins.
