Thanks to the Mass Product Editing module developed by PrestaShop, increase your productivity when editing your products by performing bulk operations, whether it be their price, stock quantity or category. Below you will find all the necessary information to understand and use this module.
Configuration
In this tab, you will have the option to select the products to edit and apply the operation.
Step 1: Product search
This step will allow you to search for the products to which you want to apply your bulk editing. You will find there the list of all the products available on your online store, as well as various search filters to help you refine the results as much as possible according to your preferences.
For products with several variations, please find all the variations associated with them, each line being associated with a variation, you can apply the editing to one or several variations of the product.
Once the search results are displayed, you will be able to select the products of your choice, these products will be automatically added to the product selection that will be found in step 2. The selected variations and products will be highlighted.
Step 2: Product selection
The table you will find in this step includes all the products you have selected in step 1 with the chosen variations. You can remove a product(s) from this list at any time by clicking on its line.
Step 3: Bulk editing
At this stage, you will be able to apply your bulk edits to the list of products selected in the table. 3 types of actions are available to you:
- Update the category
- Update the price
- Update the stock Update the category
- Choose the destination category to which you wish to add your selected products. The target category must exist; to create it, go to the Catalogue > Categories tab.
- Do you wish to apply this change permanently? By clicking No, you will be able to set a validity period for the configured change. At the end of this period, the added products will be removed from this category.
Price update
For your information, the price editions apply to the price before tax.
- Do you want to increase or reduce the price of your selected products?
- You will then have the choice to increase or reduce your prices by percentage or by amount. Please enter the desired value in the dedicated configuration field and select the currency or percentage symbol.
- Is this price change permanent? By clicking No, you will be able to set a validity period for the configured change. At the end of this period, the price of the products or variants will be edited with the opposite amount or inverse percentage. N.B.: Editing only certain variants of a product will modify their individual impact on the price, whereas if the operation applies to all existing variants of a product, the price of the product will be modified.
Caution: Reducing the price of a product may make the final price of the product lower than its purchase price if the amount of the operation is greater than your margin. Please be very careful during these operations to comply with the regulations in your country regarding sales of products at a loss. You are responsible for the operations you carry out on prices, as well as the impact on your turnover.
Stock update
- You have 2 options for this type of action: either increase the stock or reduce it.
- Please also enter the quantity you wish to apply for your stock change.
- By clicking No, you will be able to set a validity period for the configured change. At the end of the selected period, the opposite operation will be applied to the selected products or variants.
NB: For a non-permanent operation, it will only become effective from the start date of the operation and will be reversed on the selected end date. From the Activity List tab, you will be able to delete an operation up until the start date of the operation and reverse it at any time between the start date and the end date.
