Image Optimization
In the Image Optimization tab, please click on the Create a new rule button located at the bottom right of the summary table of all existing image rules.
A window will open with 3 simple steps for configuring your new image rule:
Step 1: General
In this step, you will have 2 fields to fill in: "Rule Name" and "Language Selection".
- "Rule Name": give a name to the rule you are creating to identify it more easily later. This new rule will appear in the summary table of created tag rules. We recommend creating a global rule for all categories first, and then, if necessary, creating specific rules if you need special SEO for certain categories. Note: It is recommended to give a rule name that reflects the category to which it applies.
- "Language Selection": choose the language to which the rule will apply.
Note: You can activate new languages for your shop by clicking on the "Localization" tab and then on "Import localization pack".
After naming the rule and selecting the language of your choice, click on the "Next" button.
Step 2: Categories
This step will allow you to select the product categories for which you want to apply the image tag rule you are creating.
Choose "All categories" if you want to apply the same type of tag for all categories in the shop. You can also apply the rule to a single (sub)category or multiple categories. Only product images with the default category selected will be affected.
Step 3: Configuring Your Tag
In the tag field, you can determine the tag structure you want to apply to your product images.
To assist you, you have a list of variables that you can use to fill in your templates. You have the following variables:
- {product name}, which corresponds to the product name.
- {product reference}, which corresponds to the product reference. If the reference contains special characters, they will be removed.
- {product manufacturer}, which corresponds to the product manufacturer's name.
- {product category name}, which corresponds to the product category name.
- {product retail price with tax}, which corresponds to the retail price including tax.
- {product specific price with tax}, which corresponds to the specific price including tax.
- {product pre-tax retail price}, which corresponds to the retail price excluding tax.
- {product pre-tax specific prices}, which corresponds to the specific price excluding tax.
- {product reduction}, which corresponds to the percentage reduction of the specific price.
After setting up your tag rule, you can click on "Save". A message confirming that your rule has been successfully created will appear. A summary of this new rule will then appear in the summary table. To activate the rule, simply click on the "Apply" button. The rule will then apply to all products belonging to the categories covered by this new rule.
A window will open indicating how many products the rule applies to. You can modify and update the rule at any time by returning to the summary table.
Note: New product images (creating new products or adding images to existing products) that you add to a category with a tag rule will automatically take the default tag rule applied to that category. Therefore, there is no need to update the tag rule for these new images.
