Putting a store in maintenance on PrestaShop allows you to temporarily disable the front office. This is very useful for making changes to it without being accessible to customers or indexed by search engines. Find out how to do it!
To access it: Shop Settings > General Settings > Maintenance tab
💡 If you have subscribed to the Hosted offer, then your store will automatically be in maintenance mode at installation. It is up to you to decide when you want to make your front office available by changing this setting! |
Activate or deactivate your store
To access the maintenance mode settings, you can either go to the Shop Settings, or if the shop is already in maintenance mode, click on "Maintenance Mode" displayed at the top right of your back office.
To put a store in maintenance, simply place the switch button opposite the "Activate store" text on "No".
When you want to put your store back online, you will need to place the switch button back on "Yes".
Don't forget to click on "Save" for the change to be taken into account!
Add an IP address
If you want the front office, even disabled, to remain accessible to certain people, you can add a maintenance IP address. This will display the store from this IP address only. Click on "Add my IP" to automatically add the IP address of the computer used. It is possible to enter multiple IP addresses by separating them with commas (",").
Customize the maintenance message
The custom maintenance message allows you to write a message explaining that your store is undergoing maintenance and will be available soon. It will be displayed on the disabled front office of your store to inform your customers.
If the message has not been personalized, the screen that is displayed by default will be the following:
Note: The logo displayed on this message in the front office is the one defined in the Appearance menu then Theme and logo, you can consult our article on the subject. The phrase "We will be back soon" can be modified from the International menu and then Translations. This other article will tell you more about how to modify this item.
