Preliminary analysis of the product catalog
Here you can view:
- the number of products in your PrestaShop catalog that are ready to be synchronized with the Facebook catalog during the next synchronization
- the number of products that will not be synchronized during the next synchronization
Why are certain products not ready to be synchronized?
Thanks to PrestaShop Social, a scan of the entire PrestaShop product catalog is carried out before synchronization to Facebook. Products with one or more of the fields listed below empty(ies) will not be able to be synchronized on Facebook:
- the name,
- the "short" description,
- the quantity,
- the price,
- the product URL,
- the product image,
- the manufacturer or an EAN/UPC/ISBN
You can therefore see all the products with errors by clicking on View details. You then have the option to modify the products or not so that they can be exported to your Facebook catalogue.
All the modifications you make to these products will be taken into account during the next synchronization. To check that the modifications have been taken into account, you can click on the Refresh button. Normally, the product will change from the "not synchronizable" status to the "ready to be synchronized" status.
Launching the export of your catalogue on Facebook
Here we will explain how to launch the export of your PrestaShop products to your Facebook catalogue.
In the Product Catalogue tab, you will find a block "Your catalogue on Facebook Business". The purpose is to allow you to export your PrestaShop products to Facebook Business in order to make them visible on the Facebook and Instagram platforms.
By clicking on the "Share my catalogue" button, you activate the catalogue export feature on Facebook. Thus, all of your "active" PrestaShop products will be sent to the Facebook catalog at 1am (GMT time zone) after you activate the export, and you will see an "Enabled / Disabled" switch button and a "View the catalog" button.
Once the catalog export is "Enabled", the catalog will be updated every day at 1am (GMT time zone). Therefore, if you make changes to product sheets, or if new products are added to your catalog, you will have to wait for the next synchronization to see the changes appear in your Facebook catalog.
You can disable and then reactivate the Catalog Export feature by clicking on the switch button. A pop-in window will appear to confirm the deactivation.
You can also view your Facebook catalog by clicking on "View catalog". Upon clicking, you will be redirected to the Catalog Manager in the Facebook Business Manager, where your PrestaShop products will appear once the export is complete.
