This additional configuration step allows you to connect your Google
Analytics account so that you can benefit from your visit data within your
PrestaShop Metrics dashboard.
To do this, click on the login button, you will be redirected to a Google authentication window
.
Select your email account linked to your Google Analytics account. If necessary, create an account (more
information on creating a Google Analytics account in the New
Google Analytics User paragraph, below)
Once the terms and conditions of use have been read and accepted, click on the authorization button
to allow the connection between your Google Analytics account and PrestaShop Metrics.
You are thus redirected to the configuration page of PrestaShop Metrics and now have the
option to choose the Google Analytics property that you want to associate with the account you
just connected:
Specific case: multiple Google Analytics properties
In the event that multiple properties are linked to your Google Analytics account (to track multiple websites, for example), an option appears giving you the ability to modify the property associated with your website.
Click on Change property, then select the appropriate property from the available options linked to your Google Analytics account.
Specific case: the account or property does not match the detected Google Analytics tag
PrestaShop Metrics automatically detects the presence of a Google Analytics tag on your site. In the event that this Google Analytics tag present on your site does not match the account or property entered, a warning banner will appear, informing you of this incompatibility.
To solve the problem, three options are available to you:
- If the error indicates an incompatibility between your tag and your Google Analytics account, change your Google Analytics account. The tag detected on your site is visibly associated with another Google Analytics account.
- If the error indicates an incompatibility between your tag and the selected property, change the property. The tag detected on your site apparently corresponds to another property of your Google Analytics account, present in the list.
- If necessary, configure a new Google Analytics tag. For more details on this step, refer to the New Google Analytics User section.
Specific case: no tag detected
PrestaShop Metrics automatically detects the presence of a Google Analytics tag on your site. In the event that no tag has been detected, a banner is displayed and invites you to implement your tag.
This tag is essential to feed your visit data to Google Analytics.
To do this, you can use our Google Analytics module. Warning: This module does not work with Google Analytics V4 accounts.
