To send emails to your store's customers from your personal email, you have the option to add your personal email account as a sending address via SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). To do this, you must first retrieve your email's SMTP settings and then add your personal email account as a sending address in your store's back office.
Retrieve your email's SMTP settings.
To retrieve your email SMTP settings, you must contact your email account provider, who is in most cases also your domain name provider and your web host.
The information you will need to add your personal email account as a sending address via SMTP is as follows:
- The SMTP server address,
- Your email address,
- The password for your email address,
- The type of encryption,
- The port used.
Add your personal email account as the sending address.
To add your personal email account as a sending address via SMTP, configure the SMTP email settings of your PrestaShop store by following these steps:
- Log in to the back office of your PrestaShop online store and then select "Advanced Parameters > Email" from the left menu.
- Under the section "Send my emails to", select the option "Use my own SMTP settings".
- Fill in the required fields with the following information:
- SMTP Server: {adresse du serveur smtp},
- SMTP User: {votre adresse e-mail},
- SMTP Password: {mot de passe votre adresse e-mail},
- Encryption: {type de chiffrement : "TLS" ou "SSL"},
- Port: {port utilisé : par exemple : "587"}.
- Click on the Save button to save your settings.
Test the outgoing emails.
To test the outgoing emails, in the "Test your email configuration" section, enter your email address and click on the Send a test email button. If everything has been configured correctly, you will receive a test email in your inbox.
