Meeting legal obligations

To meet your legal obligations, you must check that your store complies with RGPD and complete the following pages:

  • Legal information,
  • Personal data protection,
  • General terms and conditions of use and sale (CGV).

1. The Legal Assistant module

To help you create your legal pages, you can use the Legal Assistant module.

To access the Legal Assistant module, log on to your online store's back office PrestaShop and select "Legal Assistant" from the left-hand menu.



2. Add legal information

Legal notices are compulsory and enable visitors to your store to find out about the publishing company.

To add a legal notice :

    1. Select Appearances > Pages from the left-hand menu, then click on the Edit button to the right of the "legal information" line.
    2. In the "Page content" section, enter your company's legal information, then click on the Save button.

 

3. Add terms and conditions (CGV)

General terms and conditions of use and sale are also mandatory. Your visitors must accept them in order to create an account or purchase a product.

To add general terms and conditions of use and sale

  1. Select Appearances > Pages from the left-hand menu, then click on the Edit button to the right of the "terms and conditions" line.
  2. In the "Page content" section, enter your company's terms and conditions, then click on the Save button.

3. Add personal data protection policy

The personal data protection policy is part of the General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD).

To add the personal data protection policy :

  1. Select Appearances > Pages from the left-hand menu, then click on the Add a page button.
  2. In the Title section, enter "Personal data protection".
  3. In the Content section of the page, enter your privacy policy and click on the Save button.
