Correct your product photos for approval

-

Reasons why your products may be rejected because of their photos

On some of your product photos, promotional text (such as a merchant logo, discount sticker, call to action) or watermarks are superimposed, which can prevent the product from being fully visible.

All products on Google Ads and Free Listings must be accompanied by a photo showing the product without any overlay. Products that don't meet this criterion are rejected and remain so until you modify their photos.

Follow these guidelines to ensure that your photo meets our criteria and delivers optimum results.

Solving the problem to get your products approved

Let's talk solutions! You can solve this problem in the Merchant Center or PrestaShop back office.

Activate photo enhancements to automatically correct your photos!

If an overlay promotion is detected on a main photo, the product concerned will be rejected, as it does not meet the conditions applicable to photos.

If you activate the automatic removal tool, Google will try to automatically correct these photos by removing the superimposed promotions. If the deletion is successful, the photo will be replaced and the product will be re-approved.

Be aware that this fully automated process doesn't always work. If a photo cannot be improved, the product will remain rejected. In rare cases, superimposed promotions may remain intact, or other non-promotional parts of the photo may be removed.

If you're not satisfied with an automatically enhanced photo, you can replace it by importing a new one yourself (see instructions below).

Photos of approved products are not modified.

Automatic photo enhancement is disabled by default. You can activate them and define your settings at any time.

To define automatic photo enhancement settings, proceed as follows:

  1. Log in to your Merchant Center account.
  2. Click on the Tools icon⚙️, then select Automatic Enhancements in Settings.
  3. On the next page, click on the Photo Enhancements tab and adjust your settings to have your photos automatically enhanced.

Note: you can keep a photo with overlays, such as a piece of furniture with dimensions shown on the photo, as long as it's not the first photo shown.
