Modify module position

-

In PrestaShop, installed modules are "hooked" to specific points called "hooks". This system of hooks can be used to modify the location of the modules that make up the various elements of your front-office.

Before changing the position of modules, it is important to understand the basics of this system. For more information, please consult the dedicated article: The hooks system.

Access position options

Go to the "Design / Positions" menu to access the list of active hooks in your store, as well as the list of modules grafted onto these positions:

Search by module

To change the position of a module, you can use the module filter to find the module in question:

Search by hook

Another way to find a module is to do a hook search if you know the name of the hook:

Detach a module

If you wish to detach a module (disconnect it from a hook), you can click on the module's actions to select the "Unhook" action:

The module will then no longer be visible on the corresponding hook on the website.

Grafting a module

If you wish to attach a module to a specific position, click on the following button :

On the next page, use the first selector to choose the module you wish to graft.

Then select the position (hook) to which the module is to be attached:

Confirm your changes by clicking on the save button.

⚠️ Beware: it may be risky for a novice to modify module hooks. In some cases, degrafting or grafting a module may cause the store to malfunction. Get in touch with your agency or PrestaShop support for this type of risky operation.
