PrestaShop Open Source
This is not an offer from the company PrestaShop. Since 2022, PrestaShop separates the company's offers from the freely usable open source versions. Furthermore, starting from version 9, the software is downloadable from a single location: the PrestaShop website. Until version 8, the PrestaShop software is made available to the public on GitHub, where it is fully freely downloadable. Distributed under a free license (Open Software License 3,0, or OSL-3.0), the open source version has been maintained since 2007 by a global community of programmers, in collaboration with our teams.
This solution is therefore rather suited for users who already have some technical knowledge, or who are accompanied by an expert agency. Indeed, the open source version does not include any of the additional services offered by PrestaShop Hosted, nor the modules integrated directly into the Classic version.
