Optimization settings

PrestaShop has many settings that allow you to adjust the behavior of your store. Depending on the settings chosen, your store can be more optimized.

The Smarty cache

PrestaShop has a cache system. The principle is simple: when a page is loaded by an Internet user, this page is cached. Because of this, the next time we visit this page, it will not be loaded in the usual way, but will be retrieved directly from the cache. This system speeds up the loading time of pages. The settings are found in the advanced settings under the "Performance" menu.

Compress the CSS and JS

You can also compress CSS and JS files. Still on the same page, a little further down, you will find the CSS/JS optimization settings:
