Modules are an essential tool to extend the functionality of your store. You can buy and install them directly from the back office of your shop, or from the PrestaShop Marketplace. In this article we will see how to retrieve a module from the Marketplace.
There are two ways to install your modules: 1-click installation thanks to the Marketplace in the Back Office and manual installation.
Method 1: Install your module in 1 click, directly in your back office (recommended) No need to manipulate files! If your Marketplace account is connected to your PrestaShop store:
Go to your Back Office, Modules tab > Marketplace.
If it is a free module, search for it directly in the Marketplace
If it is a module recently purchased on the PrestaShop Marketplace, find it at the top of the home page, in the "Modules awaiting installation" section.
Just click on "Install".
Method 2: Install manually with the ZIP file
Step 1: Recover the file
- Log in to your PrestaShop Marketplace account
- Choose the module you want to install on your shop:
- If it is a free module, it will be downloadable directly from its product sheet.
- If it is a paid module, it will be downloadable once purchased, from the "Products" section of your account on the Marketplace.
- Locate the module and click "Download".
- Associate the module with the store on which you want to install it to access the download. Enter the URL of your production store. ****Do not enter your test URL here. Line the license to the production. You can then install this same ZIP file on your test environments.
- Select the version of PrestaShop corresponding to your shop and validate to get the ZIP file.
Step 2: Install on the store
- Log in to your store's Back Office.
- Go to Modules > Module Manager.
- Click on "Install a module" (top right).
- Drag and drop the downloaded zip file.
- Once the installation is complete, you can go directly to configure it.
