Putting a store in maintenance on PrestaShop allows for the temporary deactivation of the front office. This is very useful for making modifications without being accessible to customers or indexed by search engines. Discover how to proceed!
To access it: Store Settings > General Settings > Maintenance Tab
💡 If you have subscribed to the Hosted offer, then your store will automatically be in maintenance mode upon installation. It is up to you to decide when you want to make your front office available by modifying this setting! |
Enable or disable your store.
To access the settings for maintenance mode, you can either go to the Store Settings, or if the store is already in maintenance, click on "Maintenance Mode" displayed at the top right of your back office.
To put a store into maintenance, you simply need to toggle the switch next to the text "Activate store" to "No."
When you wish to bring your store back online, you will need to toggle the switch back to "Yes."
Be sure to click on "Save" for the change to be taken into account!
Add an authorized IP address.
If you wish for the front office, even when disabled, to remain accessible to certain individuals, you may add a maintenance IP address. This will allow the store to be displayed from this IP address only. Click on "Add my IP" to automatically add the IP address of the computer being used. It is possible to provide multiple IP addresses by separating them with commas (", ").
Customize the maintenance message.
The customized maintenance message allows you to write a message explaining that your store is undergoing maintenance and will be available soon. It will be displayed on the disabled front office of your store to inform your customers.
If the message has not been personalized, the default screen that will be displayed is as follows:
Please note: the logo displayed on this message in the front office is the one defined in the Appearance menu under Theme and Logo; you may refer to our article on the subject. The phrase "We will be back soon" can be modified from the International menu under Translations. This other article will provide you with more information on how to modify this element.
