A link block is a list of links, often displayed in the footer of a store, which allows the user to access internal and external links. For example, these links can redirect to your contact pages, legal notices, etc.
Go to the "Appearance" menu, then to the "Link list" page.
This page is linked to the module of the same name, which allows you to manage the different links and link blocks available on your store. The page presents each of the existing link blocks, the hooks they are linked to and the static pages (from the "Pages" section) that the links point to.
💡 This page is closely linked to the management of hooks, so it is recommended to be comfortable with this concept before making any modifications! See the article on The hook system |
Manage link blocks
When installing your store, if you use the default theme, you have an existing block for the footer. This block itself has two sub-blocks, "Products" and "Our company", which allow you to modify the first two columns of links displayed in the footer of your store. The names of the two blocks correspond to the names of these two columns.
In the back office:
On the front-end:
Within a main block, several actions are possible:
- Sort the "sub" blocks: You can change the position of a block by dragging it to its new position, by clicking on the positioning arrows.
- Modify a block: If you click on "Modify" (pencil icon), a new screen appears with the active links for this block (which are selected), and the anchor point to which it is transplanted. You can modify this data.
- Delete a block: This option allows you to simply delete a link block.
Create a link block
- Click on "New block"
- Name your block.
- Select its anchor point. For example, if you want it to appear in the footer of your site, choose "DisplayFooter".
- Check the boxes of the pages you want to appear in your link block.
When you have selected all the links that interest you, click "Save". A new block will then appear on the main link management page, and in your shop.
