Some of your product photos have promotional text (such as a merchant logo, discount sticker, or call to action) or watermarks overlaid on them, which can prevent the product from being fully visible.
All products on Google Ads and Free Listings must have a photo showing the product without any overlays. Products that do not meet this requirement are rejected and will remain so until you update their photos.
First, go to YouTube (video in English) and follow the tips provided so your photo meets our requirements and gives you the best result.
If your photos are not approved, you can resolve this issue in Merchant Center or the PrestaShop back office by following the instructions below:
Enable photo enhancements to automatically fix your photos
If an overlaid promotion is detected on a main photo, the affected product will be rejected because it does not meet the photo requirements.
If you enable the automatic removal tool, Google will try to automatically fix these photos by removing the overlaid promotions. If removal is successful, the photo will be replaced and the product will be approved again.
Note that this fully automated process does not always work. If a photo cannot be enhanced, the product will remain rejected. In rare cases, overlaid promotions may remain intact or other non-promotional parts of the photo may be removed.
If you are not satisfied with an automatically enhanced photo, you can replace it by uploading a new photo yourself (see instructions below).
Photos of approved products are not changed.
Automatic photo enhancements are turned off by default. You can enable them and adjust your settings at any time.
To set up automatic photo enhancement settings, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your Merchant Center account.
- Click the Tools icon ⚙️, then select Automatic enhancements in Settings.
- On the next page, click the Photo enhancements tab and adjust your settings so photos are enhanced automatically.
Note: You may keep a photo with overlays, such as a piece of furniture with dimensions shown on the photo, as long as it is not the first photo displayed.
