With PrestaShop's Mass Product Editing module, you can increase productivity when editing your products by performing mass operations on their price, stock quantity or category. Below you'll find all the information you need to understand and use this module.
Configuration
In this tab, you can select the products to be edited and apply the operation.
Step 1 : Product search
This step allows you to search for the products to which you wish to apply your mass edition. You'll find a list of all the products available in your online store, as well as various search filters to help you refine the results according to your preferences.
For products with several declinations, please find all the declinations associated with it. As each line is associated with a declination, you can apply the edition to one or more declinations of the product.
Once the search results are displayed, you can select the products of your choice, which will automatically be added to the product selection at 2. Selected products will be highlighted.
Step 2 : Product selection
The table you'll find in this step lists all the products you've selected in step 1 , along with the variations you've chosen. You can remove a product(s) from this list at any time by clicking on its line.
Step 3 : Bulk editing
In this step, you can apply your mass edits to the list of products selected in the table. 3 types of actions are available:
- Category update
- Price update
- Stock update Category update
- Choose the destination category to which you wish to add your selected products. The target category must already exist; to create it, go to the Catalog tab > Categories.
- Do you want to apply this change permanently? By clicking on No, you can set a validity period for the configured change. At the end of this period, added products will be removed from this category.
Price update
For your information, price editions apply to prices before tax.
- Would you like to increase or reduce the price of your selected products?
- Next, you'll have the choice of increasing or reducing your prices by percentage or amount. Please insert the desired value in the dedicated configuration field and select the currency or percentage symbol.
- Is this price change permanent? By clicking on No, you can set a validity period for the configured change. At the end of this period, the price of products or variations will be edited by the opposite amount or percentage. N.B.: Editing only certain versions of a product will modify their individual impact on price, whereas if the operation is applied to all existing versions of a product, the product price will be modified.
Caution: Reducing the price of a product can make the final price of the product lower than its purchase price if the amount of the operation is higher than your margin. Please ensure that you comply with your country's regulations concerning the sale of products at a loss. You are responsible for the operations you carry out on prices, as well as their impact on your sales.
Stock update
- 2 options are available for this type of action: either increase the stock or reduce it.
- Please also enter the quantity you wish to apply to your stock change.
- By clicking on No, you can set a validity period for the configured change. At the end of the selected period, the opposite operation will be applied to the selected products or variations.
NB: For a non-permanent operation, it will only become effective from the start day of the operation, and will be reversed on the selected end day. From the Activity list tab, you can delete a transaction up to its start date, and reverse it at any time between the start and end dates.
List of activities
In this tab, you will find a summary table that allows you to track the mass editions you have configured with detailed information:
- Date and time of creation of each mass edition
- Start and expiry dates (if any)
- Status: Planned, In progress, Reversed or Completed
- Type of action: whether it's a change of category, price or stock.
- Products and declinations impacted by the change You will also be able to perform a few actions for your mass publishing operations:
- Delete editions that have been scheduled for a future date. A confirmation pop-up window will appear before final deletion.
- Reverse a completed or running operation to return products to their initial state at any time.
- If an operation has already been reversed, no further action is possible. N.B.: a temporary operation created to be activated on the day will be applied immediately after saving the operation.
