The Social Connect module, developed by PrestaShop, allows you to display login buttons via different social networks on your store. This module is ideal for saving your customers time when filling out forms in your store, making their shopping experience easier. It will boost your conversion rate by directly identifying your customers and connecting them via their preferred social networks! Find below all the necessary information to understand and use this module.
General settings
In this tab, you can, in the first instance, configure the appearance of your Social Login buttons. You can first choose their style: display only their outline or fill them completely and customize the rounding of their edges.
Then, you can choose the alignment of the logo and the text inside each of your buttons: in the center or on the left.
Finally, you will choose the effect you want to add to your buttons when the mouse passes over them: a shadow that gives the illusion of lifting them, hovering over your buttons in the colors of social networks or remaining sober by making your buttons black and white.
You can also, at any time, see the result of your configurations using a preview on the right of your screen.
Please note, however, that this is not exactly the final rendering of the social buttons. Indeed, the display will depend on the social networks that you have enabled and configured in the Social Networks tab. If you want to know exactly what your buttons look like, click on the button at the top right of your back office "View my store", after configuring certain social networks. In this same tab, you will have the option to choose to associate these new connections to your store, via social networks, to a specific customer group.
The module takes over the existing customer groups in your back office. To create a brand new group, specific to this module, you need: Once your choices have been adopted, do not forget to save your configurations and go to Go to the Settings menu of the store in your back office,
- Click on the Clients sub-menu,
- Press the + button at the top right of your page to add a new group of customers,
- Name your group and save.
- Your new group is now created. You can find it in the Groups drop-down menu of the Social Login module.
Social networks
In this tab, you will be asked to link your store to the various social network APIs offered by the Social Login module. You can enable or disable the display of your Social Login on the different forms of your store at any time.
For each social network, a tutorial will be made available to you to facilitate the generation of keys necessary for the use of the Social Login module. These keys allow you to connect your store to the API of each social network and display your Social Login. Depending on the networks, you will need to enter either your site key, secret key, or both, which will be generated by the different social media platforms. How to generate these keys connecting my store to the different network platforms?
