The Sitemap Generator module for SEO (XML and HTML), developed by PrestaShop, allows you to optimize the natural referencing (SEO) of your store on all search engines by automatically generating the sitemaps of your store.
XML Sitemap tab
Step 1: General configuration
- First, start by choosing the language (s) in which you want to generate your sitemaps.
- Do you want to include the links of the images of your store in the sitemap?
Step 2: Sitemap for categories
- Do you want to export a sitemap for your product categories?
- You can also disassociate your home page from the other category pages if you wish. This will allow you to set a different priority and/or frequency of content modification for this page (to put it more prominently, for example).
- You can then set the priority and frequency of content changes for the other category pages (excluding the home page).
- You will also find in this step a table grouping all the categories of your store. You will have the opportunity, on this table, to choose the category pages you want to export to your sitemap. The Select All button, as well as a search field, are available to you to make your work easier.
Step 3: Sitemap for products
This step will allow you to customize the sitemap for your product pages. The configuration remains similar to that for category pages.
Step 4: Sitemap for CMS pages
This step will allow you to customize the sitemap for the CMS pages of your store (example: About, Terms of Use...). The configuration remains the same as for category pages.
Step 5: Sitemap for the other pages
This step will allow you to customize the sitemap for the other pages of your store (example: Contact us, Login...). The configuration remains similar to that for category pages.
Step 6: Export of sitemaps
You will find in this step the link to your sitemap. To be able to view the individual sitemaps (sitemap for categories, for products, etc.), we invite you to click on the displayed index link and open the corresponding links.
Sitemap HTML tab
After configuring the sitemap in XML, it is possible in this second tab to customize the display of this sitemap on your store.
- Do you want to display the sitemap on your store?
- Then, please choose from the proposed drop-down list the CMS page on which you want to display your sitemap. If you have not created the page dedicated to the sitemap, a link is available to redirect you to the creation of a new CMS page.
- You will also have the option to choose the type of display for your sitemap. 3 options are offered to you for the best display of the sitemap on your store.
- Finally, you can choose the font and colors for the different texts displayed on your sitemap: the title of the page (“Sitemap”), the title of the categories (“Categories”, “Products”, “CMS Pages”, “Other pages”) and the links.
Automatic Tasks tab
We recommend that you configure a Cron task in this module to automatically check for changes to your sitemap. In this tab, 2 options to configure your Cron task will be made available to you, as well as some tips for submitting your sitemap to the Google search engine.
Find this module on the PrestaShop Marketplace! And let yourself be guided by our article on installing a module.
