Find below all the necessary information to understand and use this module.
Optimization of images
In the Optimize Images tab, please click on the Create a new rule button located at the bottom right of the summary table of all existing image rules.
A window will open with 3 simple steps for configuring your new image rule:
Step 1: General
In this step, you will have 2 fields to fill in: "Rule Name" and "Language Selection".
- "Rule name": give a name to the rule you are going to create in order to identify it more easily later. This new rule will appear in the summary table of the created tag rules. We advise you to first create an overall rule for all categories, and then, if necessary, create specific rules if you need special indexing on certain categories. Note: It is recommended that you give a rule name that reminds you of the category to which it is applied.
- "Language selection": choose which language the rule will apply to.
Note: You can enable new languages for your store by clicking on the "Localization" tab and then on "Import localization pack".
After giving a name to the rule and selecting the language of your choice, click on the "Next" button.
Step 2: Categories
This step will allow you to select the product categories for which you want to apply the image tag rule you are going to create.
Choose "All categories" if you want to apply the same type of tag for all categories of the store. You can also apply the rule to a single (sub) category or several. Only the images of the products having the selected category as the default category will be affected.
Step 3: Configuring your tag
In the tag field, you can determine the tag structure you want to apply to your product images.
To help you, you have a list of variables that you can use to fill in your templates. You have the following variables:
- {product name}, which corresponds to the name of the product.
- {product reference}, which corresponds to the product reference. If the reference contains special characters, these will be removed.
- {product manufacturer}, which corresponds to the name of the manufacturer of the product.
- {product category name}, which corresponds to the name of the product category
- {product retail price with tax}, which corresponds to the selling price including tax.
- {product specific price with tax}, which corresponds to the specific price including tax.
- {product pre-tax retail price}, which corresponds to the ex-tax selling prices.
- {product pre-tax specific prices}, which corresponds to the specific ex-tax price.
- {product reduction}, which corresponds to the percentage reduction of the specific price.
After you have configured your tag rule, you can click on "Save". A message confirming that your rule has been created will appear. A summary of this new rule then appears in the summary table. To activate the rule, simply click on the "Apply" button. The rule will thus apply to all products belonging to the categories concerned by this new rule.
A window will open showing you how many products the rule applies to. You can modify and update the rule at any time by returning to the summary table.
Note: New product images (creating new products or adding images to existing products) that you add to a category that has a tag rule will automatically take the default tag rule applied to this category. There is no need to update the tag rule for these new images.
