Premium Gift Card

Thanks to the Premium Gift Card module, offer gift cards in the amount of your choice that your customers can buy and offer to their loved ones who will spend them in your store. This ideal gift is suitable for all sectors of activity (fashion, high-tech, beauty, sport, travel, etc.) and meets all expectations, whatever the occasion celebrated.

Operation of gift cards

The gift cards you sell on your site are comparable to the other products in your catalog. Each of them has a name and a price that you have previously defined.
Your customers can add one or more products (gift card or other) to their cart and make their purchase normally. They have nothing to configure before purchasing the gift card.

Once a gift card has been purchased by one of your customers and the payment has been validated (status to be defined in the Configuration tab of your module), they receive an email inviting them to configure their gift card before sending it to the person of their choice.

The configuration space is in the customer account, My Gift Cards section. In this section is the set of gift cards he has purchased. By clicking on the Configure button, your customer accesses the configuration of his gift card and can then customize the following items:

• Name of the gift card recipient
• Name of the sender
• Custom text
• Choice of type of gift card:

1. 1. Sending by mail: beneficiary's mail, and choice of immediate or later sending (date of choice)
   2. Download the gift card in PDF: the customer can then give the gift card directly to its beneficiary

Once your customer has configured and saved their gift card, the chosen action is carried out (sending by email or immediate download of the PDF).
If your client chooses to send by email, their recipient will receive an email at the address indicated containing the details indicated in the configuration as well as the amount of the gift card, the associated code and the expiry date of the same.

Display of the gift card's operation on the product pages

For added security and confidence, we recommend that you inform your customers about the operation of the configuration (from the customer account, after purchase, etc.) and the sending (by mail or by downloading the pdf) of their gift card directly on the product page of the gift card.

To successfully create and display your gift cards, you will find below all the instructions for configuring your module in the back office.

Configuration tab

Step 1: General configuration of your gift cards

First, you need to configure the generic elements of your gift cards:
- The validity period (in months) of your gift cards: this will determine the duration during which a customer can use the gift card that has been offered to them.
- The type of tax to apply to your gift cards: the tax you choose will be automatically applied to all products that you have tagged as gift cards.

- The shipping costs associated with the products purchased with the gift card: included or excluded.

• If you choose to include them (by clicking "Yes"), gift card recipients will
  also get free shipping on the order they place using their gift card.
• If you click No, the gift card amount does not then include the shipping costs, and the customer will have to pay the shipping costs applied to their order.

- The payment status activating the gift card. Generally, the status to use is "Payment Accepted" unless you are using specific statuses. As long as the order does not have this status, the customer cannot configure or send their gift card.

Step 2: Creating your gift cards

In this step of the configuration, you are referred back to the creation of "Gift Cards" products. Do not hesitate to consult the information block in the configuration before moving on to creating your Gift Cards products.

These work like normal products, with a title, price, available quantity, description, one or more images, SEO elements, etc. Nevertheless, they are distinguished by a few elements:

- You must select the "Digital Product" type at the top right of the product name, then save your changes. Please also note that you must remove the variations you may have on your product before you can change your product to a Dematerialized type.
- You must then go to the "Modules" tab of the product sheet, select
Premium Gift Card and tag the product as a gift card so that it is taken into account by the module.
- The product tagged as a gift card will automatically retrieve the tax configured earlier in the module interface.

You can create as many gift cards as desired, at the prices of your choice.

Furthermore, you can sort your products in the category/categories of your choice. For example, you can create a category dedicated to gift cards.
Once activated, your gift cards will be displayed on your site like your other products. Your customers can then buy one or more. For more information on the operation and configuration of the gift cards purchased, go to the first part of the user documentation.

What happens if I do not tag a product in Gift Card?

This product will then not be considered as a gift card but as a normal product and the customer will then not be able to configure it and send it to its beneficiary.

Gift card list & stats tab

In this tab, you can find all the gift cards you have created and tagged as such, as well as a history of gift cards purchased/used and statistics on the use of gift cards on your site.

1/ Gift card product management: From this table, you have access to all products tagged as gift cards, as well as their ID, name and price. You can modify them, activate/deactivate them or delete them. If you choose to remove them from the module, they will be deactivated and disabled, but still available in your product catalog.

2/ Statistics: This tab also allows you to retrieve the essential statistics on your gift cards: total number of gift cards purchased, total number of cards used, total revenue generated.

3/ History of gift cards purchased: from this table, you can find all the gift cards that have been purchased since the creation of your gift cards, the important information about them (gift card ID, order ID, customer name, code, price, purchase date) and their status (Payment pending, To be configured, Downloaded, Programmed, Sent, Used).

Cron Tasks tab

In order to be able to automatically send emails to gift card recipients at a later time, you must set up a cron task, which is a process that allows you to schedule regular tasks. This must be programmed to be triggered once a day.
For this, you have three options:

1/ Automatic sending via a free external service (recommended option)
We recommend using the www.easycron.com service. You just need to create a free account, then set up your cron job (this is the URL that needs to be called).

2/ Automatic sending via a configuration on your own server
If you prefer, you can configure your cron task yourself on your own server. For this option, we invite you to contact your host.

3/ Manual sending
You can also send manual reminders, to do this, click on the dedicated button or enter the URL of your cron task in your browser.
