The ReCaptcha - Google anti-spam module allows you to protect your store against bots and spam on the various forms on your site. Find below all the necessary information to understand and use this module.
Account configuration
In this tab, you will be asked to link your store to the Google reCaptcha API.
You will need to fill in your site key and the Google reCaptcha API secret key that you can generate using the redirection link located under the secret key field. The link is as follows: https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin/create#list. Log in to the platform and provide the information requested by Google.
Name your project, then choose the type of reCaptcha version 2 that you want to see appear on your store: checkbox "I am not a robot", or invisible reCaptcha badge.
Then link your store to Google by entering your domain name. Finally, add the email addresses that will own the project and accept the reCaptcha terms of use.
Once the information is filled in and your selection is made, your site key and secret key will be generated. You will simply need to copy and paste this data into the module at the requested location.
Finally, report in the module the type of reCaptcha that you have chosen on the Google platform.
Save and move on to the next step.
Configuration of reCaptcha
In this section, you will have the option to enable and disable reCaptcha at any time.
You can then choose the location of your reCaptcha. You will be prompted to add it to the account creation, contact form and when logging into your site.
If you have chosen YES in the Site login field, then an additional field will appear to determine the number of failed attempts after which the reCaptcha is displayed. This is to prevent connections by robots that test multiple passwords. If you want to display the reCaptcha every time, enter 0 in this field.
You will also be offered to customize the appearance of your reCaptcha. You can choose from two reCaptcha themes. One is white, the other is black.
Then you will have the option to choose its size. One is square, the other is rectangular.
Then, you can choose the language of your reCaptcha: either decide to display it in the language of the store or in the language of the browser.
Whitelist
In this section, you will have the option to insert the IP addresses for which the reCaptcha will not be displayed. At any time, the whitelist can be modified. You can add or remove IP addresses and tag the name or group to which this IP address corresponds to remember it.
