⚠️ Important note: This article addresses the older versions of the PrestaShop Account module (v7 and below). A new version of our PrestaShop Account module (v8) now includes a new automatic verification mechanism that can resolve association issues and disconnections. Therefore, please ensure to use the PrestaShop Account module starting from version 8. |
Linking your store to PrestaShop Account is essential to access several key services (paid or connected modules, support, marketplace, etc.). The PrestaShop Account module ensures this essential connection (see also the article What is the purpose of my PrestaShop Account?).
Steps to link your store
- In your back office, go to Modules > Module Manager.
- Search for "PrestaShop Account" (under the Administrationcategory) and click on Configure.
- Click on the Associate button.
- A pop-up opens:
- If you are not logged in, please identify yourself.
- If you do not yet have an account, please create one.
- Then initiate the association.
- Once the association is successful, you will see the list of linked stores on the module configuration page.
Please note.
- A shop can only be associated with a single PrestaShop Account at a time.
- In contrast, an account can manage multiple shops, which is convenient if you administer several sites from the same account.
- Always associate your own account, especially if an agency is involved. This ensures you maintain control in the event of the termination of collaboration.
- Preserve and differentiate all your accesses (FTP, back office, hosting, etc.). Utilize a password manager to share these credentials only with confidence.
- Dissociate the store before duplicating the database, in order to avoid token conflicts (stored tokens) that may impair the proper functioning of the association.
Frequent risks & solutions.
Permission denied (Cloudflare)
Error due to a Cloudflare request block: please allow the blocked URL in the logs, then try again. This action is unavailable on Hosted stores; please contact support.
2. Shop already linked – “You are not the owner…”
This indicates that an old account has already associated with the store. If possible, dissociate from this old account. Otherwise, contact PrestaShop to rectify the situation.
Error while sending tokens.
Ensure that the PrestaShop Account module is up to date. If the error persists, please check the Cloudflare settings or the filters of your hosting provider.
4. currentShop.url must be a valid URI.
This message appears if the name of the back-office folder contains spaces. Rename it by removing these spaces via FTP, then try again.
Re-association after disconnection
If you lose the association with your account:
- Clear the cache in Advanced Settings > Performance.
- Re-associate the store via the PrestaShop Account module.
- Check the connected modules (such as PrestaShop Checkout) and reconnect them if necessary (notably the PayPal connection).
