Why use the new version of the PrestaShop Account module (v8)?
The new version of the PrestaShop Account module (v8) allows you to maintain access to several key services (paid or connected modules, support, marketplace in your back office...) securely and through a simplified operation.
In its previous versions (v7, v6, etc.), the PrestaShop Account module employed a manual mechanism for associating your store with your PrestaShop Account user account.
This mechanism aimed to establish a strong link between these two entities, but it could also lead to malfunctions such as association issues or unexpected disconnections, thereby blocking access to certain essential services (such as PrestaShop Checkout).
The main improvement of the new version of the PrestaShop Account module (v8) is the abandonment of this manual association mechanism. It is now replaced by an automated process that identifies and verifies the authenticity of your store, while ensuring the security and stability of your connected services.
Manipulation required for the update to the new version.
The update of the PrestaShop Account module to version 8 will be seamless and instantaneous in most cases.
This update employs an automatic reintegration process for existing stores, allowing all stores to be accurately identified and verified without manual intervention.
- If your store was already associated, you will not need to redefine your contact information. No action is necessary.
- If your store was not previously associated, you will simply need to provide your contact information by logging in with your PrestaShop Account. Please refer to the article "Providing or Changing Contact Information" for further information.
Debugging action in the event of an error following the update.
If you encounter an error after installing or updating the PrestaShop Account module, please perform a reinstallation or a reset of the module from your Module Manager page.
This action will allow for the replay of functions that may have failed due to an incomplete installation or update, thereby causing a malfunction.
If the problem persists, please contact us via this form so that our teams can analyze the source of the issue.
